The military is now offering the Post 9/11 G.I. Bill after going in effect on August 1, 2009. This is only for individuals who served in the military for at least 90 days on or after the historic September 11 incident. Yet, there is an exception to the individuals who were discharged with a military linked disability within 30 days after. Of course, it has to have been an honorable discharge. You'll receive a handful of benefits that would financially help you such as:

• Tuition and fees are paid to the school of higher learning
- Tuition and fees may not exceed the in-state tuition and fees limit

• Allowance for monthly housing
- Based on BAH for an E-5 with dependents
- People attending foreign schools have a fixed rate for $1333 for 2009

• $1000 annual allowance for books and supplies

These benefits are eligible only for those who want training in a higher learning institution.

• Personnel being trained online wouldn't receive the housing stipend
• Those who on active duty will not receive the housing or the books/supplies allowance

In addition, you will receive up to 36 hours of educational benefits and these benefits are available up to 15 years after your release from active duty. Applying is the first step in taking full gain in what the military has to offer. Once you find interest in a military friendly school and choose your career path, you can start off being financially reimbursed. The nation needs more knowledgeable militants.

I found a great source that will help you with further information on how to claim your GI Bill Benefits if you are eligible.
